Christianity
2 Timothy 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. NKJV
How true are these words today. Many people do not want to hear the truth of the scriptures, what we would call sound doctrine (teaching). But rather want to seek those “ teachers” that will instruct to their wishes and feelings, and after their own desires. Many want preachers, missionaries to tell them what they want to hear rather than want God wants them to hear.
This is particularly true in Swaziland today. The biggest, most attended churches seems to be those that are teaching what the people want to hear rather than teaching God’s word. We see advertisements regularly announcing; “ 30 Days of Prophetic Shift For Your Miracle Speed Up “
“ All Night Prayer For Prophetic Healing” “Come And Receive Creative Miracles”
At the same time we read of “pastors” that force their congregation to drink gasoline, to eat live snakes and one pastor even made a personal cell phone call to God while preaching, some say “They “ have a special power and relationship with God. Others say, “There’s No Life After Death”.
Of course we believe that God still performs miracles, heals people if it is His will. However prophecies in the bible foretold of the Messiah that would die to save His people from their sins. God is the only one that knows the future.
The guys and women that call themselves “pastors” are promoting themselves rather than pointing people to God. Pray with us that those that do teach and preach the Word Of God stay strong and faithful.
We have had a busy, good last couple of months. Brett (our Grandson) was again able to come over and spend his summer break helping us in the ministry. He has been such a blessing not only to us but to many of the Swazi people both children and adults. The people and we will miss him.
We have had the pleasure of hosting a few mission teams; one was a small team of young adults that were such a blessing to us all.
We invite all no matter how many, we ask to be over the age of 12 to plan a short-term mission trip with us. We know you will be a blessing as well as be blessed.
Our pre-school continues to go well with just a bump or two. However God is working and the children and adults are learning.
We were able to start and finish the Stove, soon we will continue with seating and a canopy over it all.
Kids clubs and adult bible studies are continuing strong.
We have partnered with a ministry that gives palliative care to children, helping them with providing the Hospice care buckets. If God continues to open doors of opportunity to minister, with possibly another pre-School and feeding site, we are trusting Him for the resources needed to begin these new ministries.
