AS The Journey Continues
How time has flown by.
At times it seems as though it has only been a few months since God called us into full time ministry. That was 5 ½ years ago. Since that time we have had the privilege of serving with Children’s Cup in Swazi-land, Africa for three years, then back to America to help start a church on the Pine Ridge Sioux reservation in South Dakota. We also helped with a Youth Ministry’s summer camp in the Bad lands . After that we moved to Globe , Arizona to help a ministry by, serving as Pastor of a small Native American Apache church on the San Carlos reservation. One thing we have learned during this time is that when following God you may not at the time always understand why He leads you to different places with different ministries but His plan is always better than our plan. Now we can see and understand a little better why. If we are faithful to God and go and do what He calls us to do, then God will be faithful in helping us to do it.
God calls each of us to a particular work and gifts us according to what He has called us to do. The Bible tells us we are not all called to be teachers, preachers and so on. I believe God has called Diane and I to International missions.
We prayed that God would open a door of ministry for us somewhere outside the states and once again, God has been faithful. We are currently in transition to move to Cen-tral America, we are moving to Alajuelita, San Jose, Costa Rica. We will be serving with 6:8 Ministries.
6:8 founders want to expand the ministry they are doing in Costa Rica. Our ministry involvement there will be to develop "Community Care Points" a central place in the communities that we can minister to the locals. We will also help to expand the medical ministry. The "Care Points" will provide a building/ a place for ministry through feeding, medical clinics, bible clubs and a safe place sharing love and hope. The hope we will be sharing is found only in Jesus, so everything we will be doing Christ will be the center.
If for some of you this type of ministry sounds familiar it is, this is the same ministry model Children’s Cup uses in Swaziland. Coincidence I think not this is God’s plan.
Another thing is we understand for people and communities to grow in Christ , a local church / a place of worship / is key, therefore we will also be seeking partners in hope-fully planting churches in the communities that the “Care Points” are located.
Our plan is to be in Central America July 17, 2013. We look forward to what God is going to do in and through us. As soon as we get settled we will send out a new prayer letter with regular updates.
As always we thank our Home church Piney Grove and other minis-try partners for your continued thoughts, prayers and financial support. Without you we would not be able to continue God’s work. THANK YOU ALL !!!
